Hello,
to report back on the blog I am having a problem with the update manager of Ubuntu 10.04 (LTS).
In essence, launching the application, I find myself with the system apparently freeze: gnome-panel does not meet either, or AWM, nor the keyboard (ALT + TAB). It also occurs if the update starts automatically and that's what threw me a lot: thinking it was a crash due to gnome or wpa-supplicant, I tried to turn off all applications. Only a kill Xorg with its restart process (and then logout from the system ...) gives me back control of the mouse.
After some tests I found myself with this message:
The problem is that this report is very misleading as it could suggest a hijack or a crack in the system. It implies a further loss of time because it goes to carry out long and useless.
Fortunately, thanks to the message and google, I found that it is a known bug in ubuntu:
and seems to be due to a control system required when the password prompt of SUDO in a graphical environment.
This is a damn BUG and I have not found the solution: (
but fortunately the bug is known and followed by developers:
please, if you have the same problem report it to this address so that programmers are informed by more users.
Thank you, hello!
